Choptek is me, Chop, in Clarksville, Tennessee. I build websites and AI systems for businesses that would rather deal with a person than a helpdesk.
The person who scopes it is the person who builds it
I do the scoping call, I write the code, I answer the email, and I'm the one who picks up when something breaks on a Saturday. There are no account managers here and no build team offshore, which is the whole model and most of the reason the pricing works the way it does.
Choptek is veteran-owned, which in Montgomery County is less unusual than it sounds: something like a thousand businesses here are. A lot of my work is for them. The shop started because a couple of local owners asked me to look at why they couldn't get their own website files back, and the answer was that they'd never owned them. Getting people out of that is still a big part of what I do.
The rest is ordinary building. Custom sites, online stores and AI systems for businesses around Middle Tennessee, most of them within an hour's drive.
What I believe
You should own your presence online. I host sites because that's simpler for most people, but you can take the whole thing and walk in about an hour. A vendor who makes leaving hard has too much leverage over you, and I'd rather not have that kind of leverage.
Software should do a job, not just demo well. That goes double for AI. If a plain script beats a model, I'll build the script.
Prices belong on the website. If a number is hidden there's usually a reason, and it usually isn't in your favor.
